WORK WITH A DEPARTMENT
Work on a departmental level is generally done on a per-project basis where NCJW can leverage
your passion and skillset to benefit a particular endeavor.
- Advocacy- focusing on human trafficking, reproductive choice, immigration reform, gun safety, and other issues in the US and Israel
- Communications - publicity, section bulletins, flyers, social media, website
- Community Service – see the many services we provide listed below
- Fundraising / Events – several large and smaller events through the year
- Membership – involvement, recruitment, and retention
- Programming / Hospitality – for general program meetings

- MAH JONGG & CARD PARTY LUNCHEON - January
- MARCH FOR THE HUNGRY Help organize food collections, packing and delivery to food pantries
- SPRING EVENT
- PROGRAMMING FOR GENERAL MEETINGS
3-4 meetings- Arrange for a speaker and coordinate logistics - SUMMER PROGRAMS - Help plan two to three summer activities
BE A COMMUNITY SERVICE VOLUNTEER as COVID 19 safety allows
Do you prefer to do your community service in an ongoing way or on a per-project basis?
These opportunities will be right for you.
- Kid’s Community Closets at local elementary schools
- Help stock clothing and supplies for emergency donations
- Speaker’s Bureau for Anti Sex Trafficking – educate local organizations on the perils of sex trafficking and how to stop it. Training provided
- Ongoing tutoring and mentoring of elementary school students
- Building Better Readers- Literacy program
- Work with first and second graders in the local public schools to tutor reading skills
SHORTER TERM: Do you have limited availability but would like to get involved here and there?
These opportunities might be right for you:
- Holiday on Wheels
- Visit elder care facilities as a group to celebrate Rosh Hashonah, Chanukah and Passover
- Preschool Vision Screening- Active in January and February
- Scholarship committee for Jewish Leader of Tomorrow Awards
